ABOUT US

Dr. and Mrs. Anthony T. Higgs, Sr., served as pioneers in Christian service for thirty (30) years. They are the founders of Community Baptist Church where Dr. Higgs served as senior Pastor for nineteen (19) years. They also were instrumental in planting Calvary Bible Baptist Church in Delray Beach, Florida. Dr. Higgs has organized City-Wide Biblical Racial Reconciliation Conferences in 1990, 1992, and 1997 in the Triangle. Dr. Tony Evans from "The Urban Alternative Ministries" in Dallas, Texas was our keynote speaker for these events.

Mrs. Symonetta Higgs served as Team Leader for the Pastor’s/Minister’s Wives Network Ministry, North Carolina Baptist State Convention. Since 1987 Symonetta has coordinated an annual City-Wide Ladies Easter Prayer Conference. The Conference has impacted the lives of many women in the State of North Carolina. "Renown" (change to Renowned) speakers Ann Graham Lotz, Sheila Bailey, and Dr. Vernease Miller "has challenge" (change to have challenged) the hearts of our ladies.

Our mission is to create a support system for the next generation.

Our Purpose
To empower the next generation to impact the world.

Our History

In 1987 ASF was established as a tool to provide for the spiritual and social needs of women. Dr. Anthony and Symonetta Higgs established Another Step Forward, Inc., d.b.a. ASF in September 2006 as a 501 (C) (3) noprofit organization. In 2007 ASF implemented Adopt-A-School Initiative. Adopt-A-School Initiative has addressed the critical needs of youth in public schools and family support services. ASF also supplies an array of conferences and seminars conducted at facilities of local churches. A contributing factor to ASF's effectiveness is its ability to mobilize existing organizations in the community to create long-term, measurable charge.
